Instant noodles are one of the most dependable categories in packaged food. They are shelf-stable, quick to prepare and loved across cultures, and today’s range stretches from simple chicken soup packets to fiery Korean stir-fry noodles and indulgent cream sauces. For a retailer, distributor or importer, the challenge is no longer finding instant noodles. It is choosing the right brands, formats and flavours for your customers, and sourcing them efficiently.

This guide looks at the six brands in the Sampao Thong Interfoods catalogue: Buldak, Maruchan, Indomie, Maggi, Nissin and Nongshim. It covers what makes each one distinctive, how to think about formats and flavour mix, and what information to prepare before you ask for a wholesale quotation.

The six brands at a glance

Each brand has its own heritage and its own strengths. Together they cover the main styles that shoppers look for: Korean spicy noodles, Japanese ramen and cup noodles, and Indonesian fried noodles.

Buldak: the spicy specialist

Samyang Foods launched Buldak in South Korea in 2012, and its fiery stir-fried noodles became an international sensation through online “fire noodle challenge” videos. Today the range runs from the classic hot chicken flavour to milder, creamy variants such as Carbonara and Rosé, plus cups, big bowls, sauces and snacks. Read our Buldak wholesale guide.

Maruchan: the everyday ramen staple

Maruchan, from Japan’s Toyo Suisan, is best known for its Ramen Noodle Soup packets: simple, familiar flavours at an accessible price point. Ramen Bowls, the premium Maruchan Gold line and Saucy Noods stir-fry noodles extend the range. See the Maruchan wholesale guide.

Indomie: Indonesia’s Mi Goreng

Indomie, made by Indonesia’s Indofood, is famous for Mi Goreng, a dry fried noodle with sweet soy, chilli and fried shallots. Regional flavours such as Rendang, Iga Penyet and Cabe Ijo add variety for buyers who want more than the original. See the Indomie wholesale guide.

Maggi: a familiar name in many markets

Maggi is a Nestlé brand with Swiss origins. Its instant noodles are made for many different countries, so flavours and packaging vary from market to market. That makes Maggi a brand where specifying the exact market version matters. See the Maggi wholesale guide.

Nissin: the inventor of instant noodles

Nissin’s founder, Momofuku Ando, invented instant noodles in Japan in 1958 and introduced Cup Noodles in 1971. Its brands include Cup Noodles, Top Ramen and Soba. See the Nissin wholesale guide.

Nongshim: home of Shin Ramyun

Nongshim launched Shin Ramyun in South Korea in 1986, and its spicy beef broth has become one of the most recognisable instant noodle flavours in the world. Neoguri, Chapagetti and Potato Noodle Soup round out the range. See the Nongshim wholesale guide.

Choosing the right formats

The same flavour often comes in several formats, and each suits a different channel. Stocking the right mix is as important as choosing the right brands.

  • Single packets are the core of most supermarket and grocery ranges: the widest flavour choice at the lowest unit price.
  • Multipacks suit family shoppers and warehouse-style retail, and help raise the value of each sale.
  • Cups are made for convenience stores, offices and travel: add hot water and eat from the container.
  • Bowls and big bowls offer a larger, more filling portion for the ready-to-eat shopper, often at a higher price point.
  • Related lines such as Buldak hot sauces, potato chips and tteokbokki help a noodle display become a destination for a brand’s fans.

Building a balanced flavour range

Shoppers range from spice seekers to families looking for mild, familiar flavours. A balanced range usually covers three tiers:

  • Familiar and mild: chicken, beef and soy flavours, such as Maruchan Ramen Noodle Soup or Maggi Chicken.
  • Bold and savoury: Indomie Mi Goreng, Nongshim Chapagetti and Shin Ramyun.
  • Very spicy: the Buldak range, especially Original and 2x Spicy, for customers who actively seek heat.

Market versions, labels and documentation

Many instant noodle brands are produced in several countries, with recipes and labels adapted to each market. When you request a quotation, say which market version you need, or the language required on the label. For imports, check your country’s rules on labelling, ingredients and permitted additives before ordering. These requirements are the importer’s responsibility, and the documents available are confirmed for each enquiry.

Planning quantities and mixed orders

Wholesale noodles are ordered by the carton or the pallet, with a minimum order of 200 cartons in total, or at least 3 pallets. If you are buying several brands, a mixed order lets you test a broader range: the 200 cartons can be made up of any combination of products. In your enquiry, give a quantity in cartons or pallets for each product and, if you expect to reorder, an estimate of monthly demand. Quantities in an enquiry are not a commitment; they simply help us prepare an accurate quotation.

How to request a wholesale quotation

  • Browse the product catalogue or the brand directory.
  • Add the products you want to your enquiry list and set indicative quantities.
  • Tell us your business type, delivery destination and whether the order is domestic or for export.
  • We review availability and terms and reply with a quotation prepared for your order.

Prices are not published because they depend on the products, quantities, destination and commercial terms. Overseas buyers can also use our export enquiry form.

Frequently asked questions

Can I combine several brands in one wholesale order?

Yes. You can add products from all six brands to a single enquiry list and submit them together. Availability and quantities are confirmed in the quotation.

Which instant noodle formats sell best in convenience stores?

Cups and bowls are usually the strongest formats for convenience stores, because customers can prepare and eat them straight away. Single packets and multipacks suit supermarkets and grocery stores.

Do I need to specify the market version of a product?

It helps. Several brands produce different versions for different countries, so state the label language or market version you need in your enquiry.

Brand names and product packaging mentioned in this article are trademarks of their respective owners. Sampao Thong Interfoods is a wholesale distributor and is not the manufacturer of these products. Product availability and specifications are confirmed in each quotation.
